It can be ordered from this site, please use the link on the left or from myself at matches.
It will also be on sale from the DF stall on the forecourt at all home games.
- To raise money for the Development Fund
- Because I have always wanted to write a book.
- I believe that it is important that the early seasons of FC United are chronicled for posterity.
That is why I have given up 12 months of my life to write Trips on Glue. The more observant of you will have spotted the Stone Roses lyric in the title, give yourself 50 Top Red points. It also refers to (without actually naming them of course) the sponsors of our league.
The book is a diary of the season through my eyes starting in the sun at Studley and going through to the end of the season taking in knickers at Bradford, mops in Bridlington, the autumn/winter team blip, various supporters dos and meetings, reserve and U18 games, the Curzon boycott, Burygate and much more.
Hopefully you will enjoy reading it, maybe you will laugh at parts, maybe you will shake your head and disagree with what you read, maybe you will think it is crap, but you will do that safe in the knowledge that by buying the book you have helped us get that little bit nearer to owning our own ground, a place finally to call home. And that is no bad thing.
It is out now. It is also available to buy on this site and from my good self at home games.
I hope it shows as much love for this thing of ours that the books Brady and Pete Crowther wrote and maybe it will inspire someone to take the gauntlet to write about season four.
